I too purchased a large Levolor Cordless Blind and the cord is actually very thin. The cords on both sides got chewed up somehow and broke.

They should have told me not to buy such a large blind with cordless. It was much too heavy to hold up and I am very unhappy with the product overall. Stick with the cords - do not buy the cordless. Yes, we should have a class action on this product.

It doesn't really work. Levolor offered me a discount to replace the blind and advised me to see if I could find someone that would repair the blind. I took the pulley off the blind and looked at it.

It's a very thin cord that just came unravelled.

Monetary Loss: $367.

We purchased 8 designer linen cellular shades. Top down bottom up cordless shades, within 3 years every blind had to be sent back at least once, twice due to breaking.

Very cheap mechanism and very cheap cords. Now warranty is up and 2 just broke again!! Looking to replace all 8 windows but WILL NOT USE LEVOLARS EVER AGAIN.

THEY SELL *** AT RIDICULOUS PRICES!! Customer service was useless

I too bought 5 Levolor cordless blinds of various widths @ 12 years ago from J C Penney. The short ones still operate fairly well.

The widest was 100 inches. After @ 5 years the 100" one broke. I was surprised to learn it was still under full warranty. The free replacement was shipped from Mexico.

It lasted about 2 yrs. The full warranty started over. The third blind lasted another 2 yrs. Again free replacement.

When the last one broke Levolor had enough. They offered me a free corded blind without a warranty. Now after about 5 months the cheap cotton cords are starting to fray.

The local decorating store sold me 30 yards of good quality mini blind cord. Replacing one cord was a real pain, but I won't be afraid to replace the remaining three cords the next time one shows wear.

I had the same problems with my Levolor cordless blinds. Within months of buying them 3 of the 6 I bought would not stay up when lifted.

The larger blinds were the problem as I believe they are too heavy for the mechanism. Levelor replaced all three which were broken again within 3 - 4 months. I asked Levelor if they could make them into corded blinds which they informed me could not be done.

I found an independent blind repair business in my community where they had no problem making my cordless blinds into corded ones which work perfectly. It cost me $75 each which was way cheaper than buying new ones.
